The prestigious Harvey Mudd estate in Beverly Hills recently sold for $14.7 million in an off-market deal.

Sotheby’s Victoria Risko and Stephen Resnick of Hilton and Hyland represented the seller in the transaction, the L.A. Times reported.

Notable former residents of the English-style compound include mining engineer Mudd, oil magnate Harry Rothschild and Oscar-winning actor Martin Landau.

The Mudds lived there from 1922 to 1958. The property most recently sold for $6.3 million in 2010.

The residence, designed by architect Elmer Grey, has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It features a conservatory, library and sunroom. Outside, there are multiple terraces and patios, as well as a pool with a waterfall. [LAT]Cathaleen Chen
