The WeHo hotel boom shows no signs of slowing.

An entity connected to St. Louis-based real estate developer Lewis Wolff filed plans to build an 88-key hotel in the city Thursday, city records show.

The site, on the corner of Wellesley Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, is currently occupied by the 140-unit Brentwood Manor Retirement Residence, which was acquired for $18.1 million last month by a Wolff affiliate, The Real Deal reported. The seller was a consortium of multiple private family trusts and individuals, property records show.

Wolff, who owns the Oakland Athletics, is involved in a handful of real estate investment firms, including Wolff Urban Development and Los Angeles-based Hawkins Way Capital. His hotel investment company — Maritz, Wolff and Co. — boasts a portfolio that includes six Four Seasons hotels, the Fairmont Santa Monica, and the Carlyle in Manhattan.

The applicant on the project was Ross Walker, a partner at Wolff Urban Development and a managing partner of Hawkins Way.

The 32,594-square-foot hotel, at 12311 W. Santa Monica Boulevard, would also have some limited retail space, planning documents show.

Neither Walker nor Wolff could be reached for comment.
