Max Netty, a real estate investor based in Beverly Hills, filed plans Wednesday to build two commercial buildings with office space, restaurants and a health club in Encino, city documents show.

The project calls for a pair of single-story buildings totaling 12,800 square feet at 16206 and 16218 W. Ventura Boulevard.

Property records show that Netty, also known as Masoud Netty, has owned part of the half-acre site since 1997. It’s currently occupied by a 1950s-era 6,000-square-foot office building.

Netty is not the only investor eyeing Encino. Earlier this year, Developers filed plans for two new apartment complexes just north of the submarket, a 170-unit building at 7002 N. Van Nuys Boulevard and a 108-unit property at 20126 W. Sherman Way.

Netty’s project will require a zoning variance, since a health club is not permitted under the current zoning.
