Actress and fitness guru Suzanne Somers recently sold a pair of oceanfront properties in Malibu for just over $12 million, Variety reported.
Although the sale was $4 million shy of the $16.3 million combined asking price, Somers still made a hefty $7.3 million profit. The Thighmaster maestro and her TV host husband Alan Hamel purchased the first of the two parcel for $2.3 million in 1999 and the adjacent one two years later for $2.4 million.
One of the lots once housed a cottage, but it burned down in a 2007 wildfire and the land remains undeveloped. The empty lot “is close to having building permits” for a two-story contemporary-style house designed by architect Bob Easton, according to the listing.
The couple is also selling their resort-style residence in the canyon above Palm Beach. Sitting on 73 acres of land, the compound is listed for $14.5 million. [Variety] — Cathaleen Chen
