In Pasadena, $100,000 may not be enough to buy a home but it’s more than enough to build the perfect luxury playhouse.
Lawyer Daisy Ha spent $95,000 this summer to have a 1,200-square-foot backyard play structure built for her 6- and 4-year-old daughters in her abnormally shaped backyard. The structure features slides, ladders, a bucket on a pulley, and an actual house.
“Now we are out there all the time,” she told the Wall Street Journal.
Ha commissioned the San Francisco-based Barbara Butler Artist Builder to install the structure. The installation took eight weeks.
According to Zillow, the average sales price for homes in Pasadena was $651,000 in March. [WSJ] — Cathaleen Chen
